| Leader condemns terrorist attacks in western Iran |

| [Iran Press TV Latest] The Leader of the Islamic Revolution has offered his condolences over the martyrdom of a senior cleric who was shot dead by terrorists in western Iran. Mamousta Sheikholeslam, who represented the people of Kordestan Province in the Assembly of Experts, was shot twice in the head by unknown gunmen in a mosque in Sanandaj on Thursday. Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei also condemned a recent spate of terrorist attacks in the same province over the past few days. According to IRNA, Sheikholesalm's killing has been the third terrorist attack in the province over the past week. On September 13, Sanandaj's interim Friday prayer leader Borhan Ali was shot dead by three unidentified gunmen. According to the report, gunmen have also attacked a judge in Sanandaj. The judge, however, survived the attack. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has also declared two days of public mourning in the Kordestan Province to mark the martyrdom of sheikholesalm. |
