[Asharq al-Aswat] An Iraqi police official says a Sunni cleric who had denounced insurgents was killed when a bomb tore through his car.The official says Jamal Humadi was driving home after his Friday sermon in Saqlawiyah, 75 kilometers (45 miles) northwest of Baghdad, when a bomb attached to his car went off.
The police official said two passengers were wounded in the blast. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to the media.
Humadi was known for his opposition to al-Qaeda in Iraq and other Sunni insurgents.
