Gatherings recall 124 teachers killed by terroists in Thai south |

![]() At Yala Rajabhat University in Yala's Muang district, 35 monks were invited to conduct a merit-making ceremony for the victims. The 124 dead comprised teachers and education officials killed in militant attacks since 2004, said the Office of Strategy Management and Educational Integration. The tally of attacks include 325 arson attacks in 287 schools in Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat and four districts of Songkhla province. "We go to work for the future of the children," Prasit Torsuan, director of Ban Khao Tanyong School in Narathiwat's Muang district, said. "We do our best, but we could not imagine that this would happen to us." |
