Rangers called in to maintain security across Karachi |

[Dawn] The Sindh Government on Wednesday authorised Rangers to maintain law and order across Karachi. Earlier a notification said that Rangers were given special powers in the limits of 26 police stations in the city. According to the notification by the Home Department, all permissions regarding carrying arms have been suspended. The notification said that no interference will be acceptable in this regard. The notification also stated that this decision was taken in the wake of recent incidents of terrorism and target killing in Karachi where there was imminent danger to public security. |
