A US drone fires two missiles into the troubled northwestern Pakistan, killing at least eight people and injuring several others. According to Pakistani intelligence officials, the two missiles hit the North Waziristan tribal region bordering Afghanistan. Earlier reports said four people had lost their lives in the lethal attack; however, officials put the death toll at 8 later on.
The death toll is expected to rise as some of the injured are reported to be in critical conditions, sources said.
The attack comes less than a week after two similar airstrikes left 17 people dead in the same region.
