#5 The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and the Battelle Memorial Institute (BMI) sent a contingent of scientists to Baghdad following the end of the second Gulf War. Their mission was to examine the two alleged and very highly publisized "WMD trailers." Their reports indicated no connection at all with Saddam's WMD efforts. Unfortuately, this report was in direct contradiction to that of the folks in McClain and ended up being quickly burried. If you recall the Colin Powell briefing charts at the UN, with Geo Tennent seated directly behind him.... you know the rest of the story. |

#2 To the degree that Iraq feels competant to respond to an Iranian attack (or the downwind effects of an Israeli attack on Iran), the Iranian nuclear threat is abated a little psychologically. Which is a Good Thing. |
