LAHORE/SIALKOT: Unprovoked firing by the Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) killed a civilian in Battal sector of Azad Jammu Kashmir, a private TV channel reported on Saturday.
The channel said the BSF fired mortars and shells on a small village around 40 kilometres from Rawalakot, killing one Muhammad Azeem. AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider condemned the incident, calling it a “cowardly act'.

According to the details from the Shakargarh sector, the Indian BSF started firing around midnight that continued for two to three hours. However, the firing stopped after the Chenab Rangers retaliated. No loss of life has been reported and the Pakistani side has asked the BSF for a wing commander-level meeting to protest the incident. |
