Islam governs Shalit's condition: Hamas |
2010-05-27 |
[Ma'an] Hamas lawmaker in Gaza Jamal Nassar said his movement treats captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit in accordance with Islam and "not according to reactions," referring to the passing of a law that would bar Hamas prisoners from family visits. Nassar's comments were made during a question and answer session in the southern Gaza Strip on Wednesday, in a public response to the Israeli Knesset's recently passed Shalit's Law, which could see Hamas prisoners in Israeli custody banned from access to a lawyer and family visitation rights in an apparent bid to secure Shalit's release. "We are dealing with our captives according to Islam ... You will see nothing from Hamas except that which will satisfy Allah," Nassar told conveners. The Palestinian Legislative Council official described Israel's new law as an "indication of the Zionist government's moral deterioration that will lead to its collapse." |
