Obama allies demand end to Afghan war |
2010-07-02 |
A group of US lawmakers allied with the White House called on Thursday for an end to the Afghan war, labelling it an un-winnable drain on US "blood and treasure" and comparing it to Vietnam. "Every dollar spent and every life wasted in Vietnam was just that, a waste," said Democratic Representative Jerrold Nadler. "Afghanistan is the same. Every dollar we spend, every life we waste, is a waste." Some 21 lawmakers have joined the "Out of Afghanistan Caucus" opposing continued combat operations there, according to Representative John Conyers. |

#4 labelling it an un-winnable drain on US "blood and treasure" and comparing it to Vietnam. Can we now start calling it "Mr. Obamas War"? |

#3 Funny, I thought the Democrats had labeled Afghanistan 'the good war.' Sure seemed that way back in 2006 ... |

#1 Every dollar we spend, every life we waste, is a waste. I feel the same about rebuilding Manhattan. Why bother? With Nadler's(D-NY) and fellow travelers' attitude, it will only get destroyed again. |
