Sudan to be example for development, says VP |

Vice President Ali Osman Mohamed Taha has said that Sudan will be a model nation for peace, security and development in the region This came when Mr Taha addressed a mass rally in Al-Affadh area, Northern State, on the occasion of inauguration of Karima - Nawa road as well as the bridge of Al-Daba - Argi yesterday. Mr Taha said that the newly-inaugurated development projects are considered a gift to the souls of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the homeland's dignity, top of them was martyr Al-Zubair Mohamed Salih. Mr Taha urged in his address, the people of the Northern State to focus on the agricultural development and to increase productivity. He also called on the local investors to invest in agriculture and manufacturing The Vice President called on the government of the Northern State to concentrate on people's welfare, education and helping for the poor Meanwhile, the Wali (governor) of Northern State, Fathi Khalil, said that the inaugurated projects are important and that Merowe Dam is one of the features of modern Sudan, pledging more developmental projects in coming period. |
