Obama succeeds in uniting everyone in L.A.
2010-08-19
No matter their politics, Los Angeles residents found themselves united. "It was a beautiful thing," said Brentwood resident Myles Berkowitz, commiserating with his neighbors on Montana Avenue. "Young, old, black, white — everyone was pissed off."

#8  top 20 readers comments about Obama's visit

My favorite:
"Hey, it could have been worse. Obama's policies have cost so many people their jobs that I'm sure the traffic volume was correspondingly reduced. Just think of how bad things would have been 12.2% of the city wasn't out of work.

#5  I wouldn't count on it. Attention Span Deficit Disorder can be counted on to wipe all recollection of August by November.

If this continues to spread, barack hussein will have fulfilled a campaign promise of uniting the country.

#3  Questions: How much does it cost the taxpayers in security when the president goes to a public event?

How much does it cost the local police force?

In addition to the nuisance to commuters, how much did this particular junket cost the taxpayers of LA in particular?

How much did the fundraiser earn?

Do the parties holding the fundraiser reimburse the taxpayers for these costs? (cue laugh track here)

I would be very interested in seeing these numbers, preferably in 36 point type under a 72 point bold face header with a screamer.

#2  Not to worry, peasants.

In my second term, helicopters will be distibuted to everyone.

Evenly distributed, of course.
