Let's see how the Euroweenies respond His remarks, made during a controversial three day visit to Italy, were condemned as "unacceptable blackmail" by Italian MPs, who likened the demand to the protection money that mafia gangs demand from businesses. Speaking at a ceremony in Rome while standing next to Silvio Berlusconi, Italy's prime minister, Col Gaddafi, 67, said that unless his request for money was met, Europe would otherwise become "another Africa" as a result of the "advance of millions of immigrants". "Tomorrow Europe might no longer be European and even black as there are millions who want to come in," he said. "We don't know if Europe will remain an advanced and united continent or if it will be destroyed, as happened with the barbarian invasions".
An MP from the opposition Italy of Values party, Silvana Mura, accused the Libyan leader of holding Europe to ransom, demanding mafia-style protection money in return for a promise to safeguard the continent from unchecked immigration.

| #8 I'm not so sure Gaddafi is in the wrong, here. Think about what he is asking for. There is a flood of Africans heading to Italy via Libya. He is offering to stop them, if the Italians make it worth his while. Why should he spend a fortune protecting Italy? Just because he is a nice guy? He would have to go out of his way, and spend some big bucks, to stop these illegals. Think of it as reimbursement for the costs. |

Ditto POST-ARMADA SPAIN vee the RISE OF ENGLAND, FRANCE, AUSTRIA, + the DUTCH. | #3 The BBC's David Willey says Col Gaddafi's visit to Rome was overshadowed by another controversial speech he made - to two groups of several hundred young Italian women, hired at a fee of 70 or 80 euros each from a local modelling agency. He told them that Islam should become the religion of Europe and gave them free copies of the Koran, after he had lectured them for an hour on the freedoms enjoyed by women in Libya. | #1 Europeans decided to risk letting Europe "no longer be European" when they stopped having children at a sufficient rate. Someone will be living there, "European" or not, whether from Libya or elsewhere. |
