ANBAR / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki agreed to hand over the security dossier of western Iraq's province of al-Anbar to its local council, following the province's al-Jubeil explosion that killed 7 persons, including women and children, according to the council chairman, Saadoun Obeid al-Shaalan, on Saturday. "Maliki ordered a commission formed to investigate al-Jubeil incident in a bid to bring those who carried out the attacks to justice and provide the families of the victims with compensations," Shaalan told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. An Anbar police source had said that seven civilians, including a woman and two children, were killed in a joint Iraqi-U.S. attack in al-Jubiel, south of Falluja city, on Sept. 9 that also left four others, including an 85-year-old woman, wounded. |
