[Iran Press TV] A senior Iranian politician says US President Barack B.O.Obama's order to slap sanctions on eight officials of the Islamic Theocratic Republicshows he supported the 'sedition movement' last year. The sanctions have been slapped on eight bigshots, simply because they fulfilled their legal duties and helped harness the seditious moves and streets riots of last year, Alaeddin Boroujerdi was quoted by IRNA as saying on Sunday. "Such actions are a clear indication that they are pursuing the policy of meddling in Iran's internal affairs," the chairman of the Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee further said. He said that the punitive measure is in line with sanctions imposed on Iran by the US Congress back in June. "The sanctions include travel restrictions, the freezing of assets and trading bans on the eight individuals in the US and its allied countries," Boroujerdi underlined. "The US and British governments as well as the Zionist regime [of Israel] made desperate efforts during the post-election unrest in 2009 but ... this plot was also foiled," the top parliamentarian concluded. |
