Four armed suspects were killed by detachments of the Mexican Army in Tamaulipas in two separate battles four days ago, according to Mexican news reports.
In Reynosa on October 8th, a patrol of the Mexican 8th Military Zone encountered several armed suspects at 1935 hrs who fired on the soldiers. Return fire by the army killed two. The action took place near the intersection of Calle Puerto Escondido and Bulevar Heroes de Reforma in the Oasis district.
Following the battle soldiers seized four firearms and a vehicle
In Nuevo Laredo, also in October 8th at 1200 hrs, an army patrol from the Mexican 8th Military Zone encountered an armed group in the Reservas Territoriales district, who fired on the soldiers. Return fire from the army killed two.
Following the battle in Nuevo Leon soldiers seized eight rifles, 128 magazines, 2,063 rounds of ammunition and two vehicles.
The Mexican 8th Military Zone is headquartered in Reynosa.
