Rep. Jim Oberstar, D-Minn., has just one donor from his district

#2  Once I was at a conference in Duluth, I think it was in 1999 or 2000. The lunch speaker was a staffer for Oberstar. The staffer spouted the usual stuff about good govt and Oberstar's contribution to it. She allowed some Q&A. One woman rattled off a bunch of pork barrel projects that Oberstar had inserted into bills and said something like "you think this crap is good govt.". The staffer's expression was priceless as she never thought anyone would ever have this kind of info.

#1  This should not be a shock. Oberstar is the quintessential “safe-seater”. However, this cycle heÂ’s also the proverbial canary in the Democrat coalmine. As the loyal foot soldier he voted for the entire Pelosi agenda. But hereÂ’s the gig. It doesnÂ’t take a genius to figure out his vote for Cap and Trade would disproportionably hurt states like Minnesota. Nearly everyone believes the Stimulus was a trillion dollar joke. And his last minute vote for Obamacare proved he was willing to sell out even his Pro-life beliefs. Now throw in an articulate opponent that has some union endorsements and the once undefeated Jimmy O might just be on the ropes.
