A Muslim schoolteacher was among two people gunned down on Friday by terrorists suspected militants in southern Thailand.
The religious teacher was shot dead as he left a mosque in Pattani province after Friday prayers. 'He was shot twice and died instantly in front of the mosque,' said Police Lieutenant Pawee Munmuang.

An official of the local electrical authority was gunned down by two attackers in Pattani province on Friday morning.
The local district police chief, said that Sunet Thapthimthong was returning home from his office on his motorcycle and was followed by two men on another motorcycle. The passenger opened fire at him with an 11mm handgun, hitting him twice in the head. |
