13 Die in Northern Mexico
A fourteenth individual died overnight in the Friday night Juarez massacre in Horizontes Sur district.
Thirteen individuals were murdered in ongoing drug and gang related violence that included a Juarez, Chihuahua police captain shot to death Thursday and a ten year old boy shot to death in Torreon, Coahuila Friday night.

  • A Chihuahua, Chihuahua attorney was abducted from his office Wednesday afternoon, say Mexican press accounts. Mario Gonzalez, brother of former Chihuahua attorney general Patricia Gonzalez was taken from his office near the corner of calles 23rd and Bustamante in the Altavista district by four unidentified men at 1330 hrs, and then driven away aboard a Jeep patriot.

  • A pursuit and a shootout in Juarez Wednesday ended with two armed suspects arrested and a kidnap victim rescued, according to Mexican press accounts. Municipal police began a pursuit of a Lincoln pickup truck on periférico Juventud in the Campesina district following the abduction of Ortiz Mena. Two other vehicles were found to be traveling with the Lincoln truck. During an exchange of gunfire the vehicles carrying the victim had stopped on calle Amapolas, while the rest of the gang escaped on foot and by vehicle. Two men were arrested, one of whom was wounded by police gunfire.

  • An unidentified man was found shot to death in Juarez Wednesday evening. The victim was found in a vacant lot on calle Rio Nilo with 20 9mm spent shell casings at the scene. The victim was wearing a police uniform, but police at the scene said he was not an officer. The victim had apparently been previously kidnapped.

  • One unidentified man was shot to death and another was wounded in a shooting in Juarez Wednesday night, say Mexican press reports. The attack took place near the intersection of Calle Rio Elva and Avenida López Mateos in the Los Nogales district where armed suspects dismounted from a Chrysler sedan and shot the pair.

  • A Juarez municipal police captain was shot to death Thursday afternoon in Juarez, say Mexican press sources. Captain Rubio was aboard his Ford Lobo pickup truck when several armed suspects blocked his way and shot him near the intersection of avenidas Manuel J. Cloutier and Las Torres.. Rubio was assigned to Babicora station.

  • An unidentified individual was found shot to death in Juarez Thursday, say Mexican press reports. The victim was found near the corner of calle Piedras Negras and Camino Viejo a San José in the El Marquis district lying face down in high foliage. Reports say neighbors in the area heard eight gunshots.

  • An unidentified woman was found shot to death in Juarez Thursday night, say Mexican press accounts. The victim was found dead in a vacant lot near the intersection of calles Camilo Cienfuegos and Batalla de Santa Clara in the Che Guevara district shot several times.

  • Three men were found shot to death near an ejido near Navajoa, Sonora, Friday evening, according to Mexican news reports. Javier Alberto Godinez Montijo, 25, and two other unidentified men were found near the village of Benito Juarez on an access road to a pig farm shot using AR-15 assault rifles and 9mm weapons. A burned out Mercedes 300 sedan was found nearby.

  • Four individuals were shot to death in four separate shootings in Torreon, Coahuila, according to the Mexican daily El Sol de La Laguna. Juan Pablo Magallanes Dominguez, 34, was shot to death in the commission of an armed robbery of his beer store, Modelodramas, near the corner of Carretera Santa Fe and Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz in the La Cortina district. Taxi driver Alfredo Trujillo Jorge Medina, 28, was shot to death as he let off a fare near the intersection of Prolongacion Rayon and Avenida Raul Madero by several armed suspects. Esperanza Ramirez Delgadillo, 36, was wounded by stray gunfire in the same incident. Juan Gomez Lopez, 33, was shot to death as he went out to buy groceries for his family in the Luis Echevarria district. Felipe Huerta Diaz, a 42, the manager of a beer selling business was shot to death in the Lazaro Cardenas district.

  • A ten year old boy was shot to death late Friday night in Coahuila, say Mexican news accounts. Daniel Alejandro Garcia Contreras was playing soccer outside at around 2230 hrs when armed suspects riding in a two vehicle convoy started shooting indiscriminately in the La Constancia district.

An alleged child molester was caught in the act by residents in a southern Juarez neighborhood, beaten and tied to a telephone pole with electrical cord in Juarez, Chihuahua, say Mexican press accounts. Two secondary school girls called for help after Ivan Gerardo Castillo Torres, 31, allegedly accosted them and began to sexually assault them near the intersection of calles Casas Grandes and José Francisco Delgado. Municipal police freed the suspect, who reports say been caught stealing in the same area in a previous incident but was immediately released by authorities.

The leader of a leftist Indian group left disabled by a previous assassination attempt was shot to death Saturday by gunmen riding on a motorcycle in the southern Mexico state of Oaxaca.

Pazos' movement is one of three groups that have been locked in a violent years-long struggle for control of the Oaxaca town of San Juan Copala.

Might have been found tied to a telephone pole in my neighborhood too - bleeding out from where offending parts were once attached.
