| Iran arrests three over Zahedan blast |

| [Iran Press TV] Iran has jugged three members of the Jundallah terrorist group, who had a major role in a deadly kaboom at a mosque in the southeast of the country. On July 15, two bombs were detonated in quick succession in front of the Zahedan Grand Mosque in Sistan-Baluchestan Province. At least 27 people bit the dust and more than 270 others were maimed in the blasts. "These people were tasked with preparing equipment and required devices, the transport of explosive vests to Zahedan, readying and preparing the two main bombers, and transmitting the news about their operation to the group," the head of the provincial intelligence department said on Tuesday. The unnamed official was quoted by Mehr News Agency as saying that the three terrorists, whose identities were not revealed, were handed to judicial authorities. "The three jugged beturbanned goons had illegally entered a neighboring country before this blind act and received the necessary training for recruiting people and anti-security activities," the official added. Over the past decade, Jundallah has conducted many deadly attacks in Iran which have resulted in the deaths of scores of civilians. Iran says it has "concrete evidence," which shows NATO and US forces in Pakistain and Afghanistan provide terrorist groups with equipment and weaponry as well as financial and intelligence support. |
