Unidentified armed suspects fired rifles and detonated as many as five grenades at a police station in Los Ramones, Nuevo Leon Monday night, say Mexican press accounts.
The attack took place at around 2100 hrs near the intersection of calles Luz Garza Villareal and 13 de Septiembre in the Progreso district where armed suspects riding aboard a pickup truck fired at the police facility for nearly 20 minutes.
Six police were on duty inside the building at the time of the attack,and took refuge in the building's basement. None of the officers were hurt in the attack.
The facade of the building was damaged by bullet impacts, and at least one official vehicle were damaged.
Mexican Federal security forces have enhanced their presence in the area in the aftermath of the attack.
