A patrol of the Mexican Policia Federal fought an armed group on a highway in Nuevo Leon leaving one unidentified armed suspect dead and three arrested.
The firefight took place on the Monterrey-Reynosa highway in Kilometer 170 near General Bravo, Nuevo Leon near ejido Peña Blanca at about 0900 where Mexican Federal agents exchanged gunfire with a convoy carrying armed suspects.
A Mexican Army detachment was also stationed at a nearby road junction, but did not participate in the action, and was subsequently withdrawn from the area.
