[Tolo News] A total of 25 forces of Evil have laid down their weapons and surrendered to government on Wednesday in western Ghor province, provincial officials said."A total of 25 Taliban fighters including their commander named Mullah Yosuf gave in their weapons and renounced violence," Abdullah Hewad, governor of Ghor, told TOLOnews.
Provincial government said the Islamic fascisti were carrying out attacks against Afghan and foreign forces in southern Helmand and Ghor provinces.
The government will do its best to address their needs and launch reconstruction programmes in their villages to make life worth-living and comfortable to them, a bigwig in the province said.
In the past two or three months nearly 1,000 forces of Evil have laid down their arms and embraced Afghan constitution in different parts of the country.
As counter-insurgency operations have started in restive parts of the country, pressures have been increased on the Taliban.
Recently we have been witnessing that small groups of forces of Evil have given up violence and joined the grinding of the peace processor. It could be an indication that government peace efforts have significantly been working to convince the Taliban to renounce violence.
