Three activists each of ANP, MQM shot dead in Karachi
2011-01-13
[Pak Daily Times] At least seven people, including three Awami National Party (ANP) and three Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) activists and a policeman, were bumped off in various murder incidents in different parts of the metropolis on Wednesday.

All three ANP workers were separately rubbed out in Pehlwan Goth in Gulistan-e-Johar Police Station's precincts.

An ANP spokesperson, Qadir Khan, said the culprits first killed Khayal Wazeer, cousin of a local ANP leader, Liaquat Bangash, and then kidnapped and rubbed out Saleem Khan, while Shahid Ghani was killed when he was on his way to the funeral prayers of Wazeer and Saleem Khan.

The ANP accused a Pakhtoon criminal group, headed by Muddasir, of the three killings and nominated them in the case. It also staged a protest demonstration over the killings and blocked traffic in Gulistan-e-Johar and on the Sharah-e-Faisal for hours.

The ANP activists pelted stones on passing vehicles and burnt tyres on roads. The intense gun sex also caused suspension of routine life in the locality. Meanwhile,

The victim was identified as Adil, 28, son of Abdul Sattar, a resident of Mominabad, Malir. Police officials said that his body was found from an empty plot situated near his house. They confirmed the affiliation of the victim with the MQM and said unidentified culprits shot him dead and later dumped his body at an abandoned place.
