Thai Islamic teacher arrested in bombing |

An Islamic religious teacher has been arrested on suspecion of involvement in the road bombing in Pattani province that injured one Buddhist monk and four soldiers on Jan 28. Waesa-udee Waesukaloh, 27, of Ban Sideh in Yarang district of Pattani, was arrested on a warrant, said a local police chief at a press conference this morning. The suspect confessed that he was the person who placed the IED at a power pole on the road that day, according to the police chief. He also said two other men on another motorcycle were the ones who detonated the bomb. They all fled the scene after the bombing. |
