| Explosion of joy in Cairo after Mubaraks announcement of departure |

| [Ennahar] Hundreds of thousands of demonstrators gathered in Tahrir Square in Cairo exploded with joy on Friday at the announcement of the resignation of President Hosni Mubarak after thirty years in power, said an AFP journalists on the spot. "The people brought down the regime! The people brought down the regime!" chanted a delirious crowd in the square that became a symbol of the protest movement launched on January 25 against Mubarak. The demonstrators shouted for joy and waved Egyptian flags. Some people fainted in the heat of the moment. |
