| 20 detained in security operations in Basra |

| BASRA / Aswat al-Iraq: Security forces in Basra arrested 20 persons wanted on different charges during search raids conducted all over the province on Thursday, according to the Basra Police Department’s relations & media office chief. “Policemen conducted 13 search raids all over Basra, arresting 20 wanted men, one of them on charges of involvement in acts of terror,” Col. Abdulkareem al-Zaydi told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. |

| #1 It's good that the Basra police dept. has publicized these arrests. It helps let the people know that the police actually can take care of business. The terrorists have DVDs, websites, & all kind of things to brag about their operations. The police need to be aggressive with their media strategy too. |
