Spain to ask Venezuela to extradite two ETA suspects
2011-02-24
[El Universal] The Spanish Judiciary is to prosecute José Lorenzo Ayestaran and José Ignacio Olaskoaga, two members of the Basque separatist group ETA, and will ask for their extradition from France and Venezuela, after several former guerrilla members of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) said that they trained them in the use of explosives, in the Venezuelan forest.

Legal sources reported that Judge Eloy Velasco, of the Spanish National Court, who investigates an alleged alliance between the Basque armed group ETA and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), plans to prosecute in March the two terrorists and request their arrest and handover, Efe reported.

Velasco will urge Venezuelan authorities to arrest and extradite ETA suspect José Ignacio Olaskoaga.
