| Police disperse pro-unity protest in Gaza |

| [Ma'an] Security forces in the Gazoo Strip dispersed a demonstration between Al-Azhar University and the Unknown Soldier Square in Gazoo City on Saturday morning. Police imposed an apparently impromptu ban on a number of students who were calling for unity. About 800 youths gathered in front of Al-Azhar University, but police dispersed the protesters and beat some of them, participants said. Young people attempted to stay inside the courtyard of the square but police cars encircled the area and prevented any gatherings, a protester in the coalition told Ma'an. The coalition said it asked for permission to hold the protest but never heard back from police. |
