Two killed in septic tank blast

[Bangla Daily Star] Two people died and seven others were maimed in a septic tank blast at Saha Super Market in the town's Puratan Adalat Road area yesterday.

The septic tank under a shop owned by clothes trader Mohadev Saha went kaboom! with a deafening boom around 6:30pm.

Ranjan Saha, 30, and Shikha Mondol, 28, was struck down in his prime while the injured were taken to Tangail General Hospital, said Jasim Uddin Sarkar, officer-in-charge of Tangail Police Station.

Of the injured, five were identified as Govinda Sutrodhar, 24, Solaiman, 30, Salma Akhter, 23, her son Anon, 2, and Hridoy Das, 16. The identities of two could not be known.
