KARACHI: Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Noman Bashir rejected on Monday the reports of "security breach" at the Pakistan Navy's airbase PNS Mehran that was attacked by a group of terrorists in Karachi on Sunday night, saying the attack on the airbase could not be termed "security lapse".
Oh absolutely your Admiralness, sir... | "Terrorists wanted to cause damage to the assets of the navy. And it was clear that they targeted naval forces," Noman Bashir told a news conference at the conclusion of the anti-terrorist operation at PNS Mehran on Monday.
The admiral at Pearl Harbor didn't keep his job, either... |
To summarize: bad guys got onto the base although it was guarded, wreaked a great deal of havoc, and some got away. This is something other than a security breach. What, exactly, will be explained at a later time. |
