The last king of Italy, Victor Emmanuel III, just happened to have some bad luck incidents during his reign, and a rumor got started, in short order, anywhere he showed up, nobody else would. Even Mussolini refused to go anywhere near him. It didn't help matters that he was something of an indecisive schmuck. |
