[Tolo News] A Taliban local commander was killed in Afghan police operation in western Herat province on Tuesday night, local official said.
After the killing of Sayed Merza 15 other Talibs laid down their arms and surrendered to government, he added. The commander planned attack against government and targeted police check posts in the province, officials said. The Taliban have not yet commented about the operation. Chesht is one of the insecure districts in Herat where bully boyz have been active in some villages. Herat is one of the seven areas that foreign forces will hand over to Afghan forces in July in the first phase of security transition. | |
