2011-06-22
[Iran Press TV] New ambassadors from the United Arab Emirates and La Belle France have officially presented their credentials to Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi in separate meetings.

During a meeting with the new Emirati envoy to Iran, Salehi called for more efforts to provide the basis for enhanced Tehran-Abu Dhabi ties.

The Iranian foreign minister also said that relations between Iran and its neighbors are the top priority in the Islamic Theocratic Republic's foreign policy.

United Arab Emirates' new Ambassador to Iran Saif Mohammed Obaid al-Zaabi, for his part, expressed hope that he will be able to help enhance ties between the Islamic Theocratic Republic and the UAE during his mission in Iran.

Al-Zaabi said that ties with Iran are a priority in his country's foreign policy and that the UAE will have no regard for "hostile remarks by some foreign parties."

The Emirati envoy also conveyed the warm regards of UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahayan to Salehi.
