'We have concerns over the recent statements by American officials about aid,' Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani ... Pakistain's erstwhile current prime minister, whose occasional feats of mental gymnastics can be awe-inspiring ... told news hounds in Quetta, the capital of oil and gas-rich Baluchistan province, which borders Afghanistan and Iran. 'Though we are not officially informed, it is a matter of concern for us. We are fighting a war against terrorism and extremism,' he added. His remarks came after Pakistain's spymaster left for US talks on intelligence cooperation, in what analysts said could shore up the strategic alliance against Al-Qaeda after the crisis sparked by bin Laden's killing. In a rare move following months of increasing acrimony between Islamabad and Washington, Pakistain said Ahmad Shuja Pasha, head of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency, flew to the United States for the top-level talks. 'He is going there to discuss the intelligence coordination,' a Mighty Pak Army front man said. |
