Afghanistan will not be represented by genuine representatives of Afghans in Bonn Conference, Mullah Mohammad Omar said in an Eid message to Afghans. But President Hamid Maybe I'll join the TalibanKarzai ... A former Baltimore restaurateur, now 12th and current President of Afghanistan, displacing the legitimate president Rabbani in December 2004. He was installed as the dominant political figure after the removal of the Taliban regime in late 2001 in a vain attempt to put a Pashtunface on the successor state to the Taliban. After the 2004 presidential election, he was declared president regardless of what the actual vote count was. He won a second, even more dubious, five-year-term after the 2009 presidential election. His grip on reality has been slipping steadily since around 2007, probably from heavy drug use... 's Office said that the Bonn Conference is very important to overcome the challenges in Afghanistan. Topics that will be discussed at Bonn conference have already been decided upon in Washington and in the Pentagon, Mullah Omar has said. In his Eid message, Mullah Omar has expressed his opposition to the establishment of permanent US military bases in Afghanistan, saying neighbouring countries also oppose the idea. Karzai's Deputy Spokesperson said that the Afghan government would represent Afghans at Bonn Conference, it will discuss challenges in the past ten years and present programmes for reconstruction, peace and stability to the International Community. "Bonn Conference could surely be effective to Afghans," Karzai's Deputy Spokesman Seyamak Herawi said. "It is up to the people of Afghanistan to decide upon establishment of US military bases in Afghanistan," Seyamak Herawi added. The Taliban leadership says that it is because of the presence of foreign troops in Afghanistan that the country is hit by a flood of challenges. The comments came as a bigwig in Afghan ministry of foreign affairs on Sunday said that if the Taliban is willing to participate in Bonn Conference, it should join the grinding of the peace processor. | |
