2011-10-22 |
Kyrgyz authorities have extradited to the Russian Federation a Russian citizen wanted for alleged terrorism and involvement in the formation of an armed criminal group. Kyrgyz State Committee for National Security (UKMK) officials told reporters in Bishkek that the suspect, whom they identified only by his surname, Akhtakhanov, left Bishkek on a plane to Moscow earlier on October 21. Akhtakhanov, 35, is originally from Chechnya. He was detained by Kyrgyz security troops in the village of Lebedinovka near Bishkek on August 8, after which the Kyrgyz and Russian authorities began negotiations on his extradition. |
