| Twin bombs kill 18 in Baghdad |

| [Dawn] Iraqi police and health officials say 18 people have been killed in twin bombings in Storied Baghdad ...located along the Tigris River, founded in the 8th century, home of the Abbasid Caliphate... . Police say the blasts targeted a music store in a Shia neighborhood Thursday night. Two people were killed in the initial kaboom shortly after 7 p.m. local time. Four minutes later, as people rushed to the scene, a second bomb went kaboom!, police said. Additionally, 36 people were maimed in the attack. A medic at Imam Hussein hospital confirmed the casualties. All officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to news hounds. |
