| US deploys 15,000 troops in Kuwait |

| [Iran Press TV] As the United States continues its threats of war against Iran, its Department of Defense has recently dispatched some 15,000 troops to neighboring Kuwait. Late last year, Marine General James Mattis quietly won the White House's approval for the deployment into the small nation which is separated from Iran by a narrow stretch of the Persian Gulf. Mattis says the deployment aims to keep Iran in check and keep the US prepared for threats in the region. The latest deployment adds to the strong presence of US-led troops in the region in countries such as Afghanistan and Iraq. Although weeks have passed since the US vacated its troops from Iraq, it still has advanced presence in the area through its embassy in Storied Baghdad ...located along the Tigris River, founded in the 8th century, home of the Abbasid Caliphate... , where thousands of armed military contractors are still being employed. Also late last year, the US equipped neighboring United Emirates with advanced weaponry aimed at disrupting underground nuclear activities. |
