Network)- Witnesses say a kaboom has killed at least 8 people and maimed 40 others, some of them seriously inSomalia's southern town ofBaidoain Bay region, just 250 Km south of the capital,Mogadishu.Mohammed Ibrahim Habsade, a Somali MP confirmed the death to Shabelle Media station inMogadishuby phone while he was in the town. He also said the blast was hidden in a small refrigerator and has been targeted government soldier in military convoy at a market in the heart of Baidoa early hours on Monday.
Figures on the casualties were reported to be both soldiers and civilians who were nearby the site of the blast. The victimized have been rushed to the hospitals in Baidoa for treatment.
No group has so far grabbed credit for the attack, but security forces were put on high alert after the kaboom to avert further attacks.
