| Somali, AU forces arrest over 10 Al shabab suspects in Balad |

| (Sh. M. Network)-Somalia national army (SNA) and the African Union forces patrolled the streets and villages located near Balad town, arresting more than 10 alleged Al shabab elements, local residents reported on Friday. According to witnesses the joint search operations continued all over last night and until Friday morning and arrested 10 youths in connection with Al shabab militants at locations close to Balad, agricultural areas sit some 30 kilometers northeast of Mogadishu. Osman Mohamed, the district commissioner of Balad for Somalia government, confirmed to Shabelle Media the operations carried out by TFG and AMISOM forces in the region, adding that they arrested 10 alleged Al shabab members whom he accused of committing insecurity acts. Somali national army backing by African Union forces in Somalia has pushed Al-Shabab militants out of the outskirts of Mogadishu, seizing several key areas, including Afgoye corridor for the past few months. |
