Two soldiers, child wounded in Taiz clashes

[Yemen Post] Two soldiers and a child were maimed in Taiz on Thursday as festivities suddenly broke out between security forces and gunnies, medic sources said.

Media sources affirmed that the festivities erupted between forces of the Military Committee and primitive affiliated to a tribal sheikh, Hamoud Al-Mikhlafi, but sources close to Al-Mikhalafi denied these reports, asserting that forces of the Republican Guard attacked some neighborhoods in Taiz.

The sources affirmed that the 33 Republican Guard Brigade launched strikes against Al-Rawdha neighborhood, singling out that a number of streets were blocked in Al-Rawdah neighborhood in which the residency of al-Mikhalfi is based.

Taiz has been a source of pro-democracy uprising that ended Saleh's 33-year rule. Security forces often responded with deadly force.

A Saudi Newspaper, Al-Sharaq, revealed on Wednesday that Iran has increased its political interventions in Taiz, pointing out that it started carrying out investment projects in Taiz that its profits will be provided to political sanctions headed by politicians and politicians who have close ties with Tehran.

The sources affirmed that Iran intends to invest $10 million in health and education projects that will be run by Yemeni politicians who have good relations with Tehran.
