(Sh.M.Network) -- Unidentified gunnies shot and maimed on Saturday evening a Somali journalist working for the privately independent London-based Universal TV in Mogadishu, the latest in continued targeted attacks on media correspondents in Somalia, Witnesses said.Abdiqadir Omar Abdulle better known as (Quarrel), who works for Universal television, was injured in front of his home in Mogadishu's Wadajir district, when two gunnies armed with pistols fired several bullets at Mr. Abdulle, hitting one on his leg and the other in his stomach.
The maimed news hound was immediately rushed to Madina hospital were doctors first reported they worked vigorously to stop the internal bleeding in his abdomen, according to Mohamed Mohamud Tima-adde,a colleague .
"Anonymous gunnies attacked the news hound as he was near his house located at Korontada village in Wadajir district at about 6:30 pm local time. He was hit twice in the abdomen and legs, but survived the attack," Mr. Tima-adde confirmed to Shabelle Media Network.
