2012-07-18 |
[An Nahar] ![]() The site, 26sep.net, named the soldier as Mohammed al-Jaradi, and said he was kidnapped late on Monday in Daleh, the capital of the province of the same name, and taken him to a village. Jaradi was later found in the village with three fingers on one hand missing. The ministry said the authorities were trying to prevent the gunnies from regrouping in Daleh, after they were ousted by the military from neighboring Abyan ...a governorate of Yemen. The region was a base to the Aden-Abyan Islamic Army terrorist group until it dropped the name and joined al-Qaeda. Its capital is Zinjibar. In March 2011, al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula declared the governate an Islamic Emirateafter seizing control of the region. The New York Times fastidiously reported that those in control, while Islamic hard boyz, are not in fact al-Qaeda, but something else that looks, tastes, smells, and acts the same. Yemeni government forces launched an effort to re-establish control of the region when President-for-Life Saleh was tossed and the carnage continues... province where they had controlled several areas for a year. It also said the police headquarters in Daleh was shelled on Tuesday by person or persons unknown. Courts there closed several days ago because of the number of armed attacks, it said. |
