| Woman who attacked Hai'a jailed |

| [Saudi Gazette] The Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution (BIP) sent the Saudi woman who attacked Hai'a The Bureau for the Prevention of Vice and the Promotion of Virtue, the Soddy Inquisition... members and spit on them to a women's prison in Makkah. The incident started when a security guard at a mall near the Grand Mosque reported to the Hai'a the improper actions of two girls walking alone. Hai'a members approached the two girls who were acting inappropriately inside the mall and tried to advise them against such actions. When Hai'a members asked them to leave the mall if they had finished shopping, both girls refused to listen to their advice and decided to call their mother. When the mother arrived at the mall, she used inappropriate language with the Hai'a members and spit on their faces and tried to throw her shoes at them. Hafsa Shuaib, director of Girls' Welfare Center in Makkah, said the two girls were not committed to the center as some websites had claimed and confirmed that they had been released by police. Abdul Rahman Al-Jabri, front man for the Hai'a branch in Makkah, refused to comment and said only the BIP is authorized to answer questions regarding cases. |
