| 12 troops, 30 militants killed in Tajikistan clashes |

| [Iran Press TV] Clashes in Tajikistan have left at least 12 government troops and 30 bully boyz dead in the eastern region of Badakhshan, officials say. The Tajik security service issued a statement on Tuesday saying the fighting broke out near the town of Khorog in the Badakhshan region. Some 23 Tajik troops were also injured during the festivities, and 40 bully boys, including eight Afghan citizens, were captured, the statement added. The incident occurred several days after the murder of the regional security chief, General Abdullo Nazarov. The government troops used tanks and helicopters against the bully boys' positions, local media reported. It was the worst outbreak of violence in Tajikistan since 2010, when 40 security forces were killed in a prison break. |
