(Sh.M.Network)-Mortar shells in Somalia's capital Mogadishu, closed down a key talks venue for the National Constituent Assembly (NCA) tasked to debate the new constitution of Somalia. Minister of Constitution and Reconciliation Abdirahman Hosh Jibril said Friday that the meeting was delayed for Saturday, citing technical reasons for the setback. "A number of mortar rounds fired at the meeting hall located former police academy, where was expected on friday to hold for the third day the constitutional convene," he added. No causalities were reported. The NCA which is composed of 825 delegates is tasked with ratifying the new Somalia constitution, and selecting members of the next permanent parliament, after which the document will act provisionally until it can be subject to a national referendum. |
