[Washington Examiner] To fill the 400-student session with at-risk students, D.C. Public Schools reached out to the Department of Employment Services. More than 300 students flagged by DCPS and who had signed up for the Summer Youth Employment Program were told that school would be their jobs this summer. |

#2 Because those who really want an education are not of concern. I would like to strangle someone over our mis-educational system. |

#1 "What would a rising ninth grader do at an internship? Probably mundane tasks, so maybe sitting in a classroom has potential for higher returns," Amundson said. Yeah, that's right. Keep those kids locked up in the same classrooms where they have already gagged. Waste their time and the taxpayers' money. DO NOT let them gain any actual work experience because they might then be tempted to work instead of wasting any more of their time in school. Then what would all those teachers do? |
