| Suicide Bomber Targets Logar Base, Injuring 13 Civilians |

| A jacket wallah detonated his explosives-laden truck inside a NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A collection of multinational and multilingual and multicultural armed forces, all of differing capabilities, working toward a common goal by pulling in different directions... and Afghan military base in central Pashtun-infested Logar province on Tuesday morning, wounding 13 labourers and two NATO soldiers, a local official said. The incident happened at 10:00 am local time in Pul-e-Alam, the placid provincial capital, a member of the local government's media office, Miriwais Mirzakwal, said. "The suicide bomber was in a truck that carried construction materials inside the base," Mr Mirzakwal said. The maimed were taken to a nearby hospital, he added. The Taliban said they carried out the attack, and claimed to have killed several NATO soldiers in the blast. The districts of Pul-e-Alam, Mohammad Abha and Baraki Barack in Pashtun-infested Logar are considered volatile, with gunnies regularly targeting Afghan and Isaf troops. |
