New York Times appoints BBC's Mark Thompson as new boss
2012-08-15
The New York Times Company has announced that BBC director general Mark Thompson will take over as its chief executive in November.

NYT, which runs national and regional newspapers and websites, said his experience in digital media on a global scale made him the "ideal candidate".

Mr Thompson, 55, said he was "excited" to take on the role.

He took over as BBC director general in 2004 and is responsible for the BBC's TV, radio and online services.

#2  He'll fit in well. He admitted the bbc had a massive leftwing bias.
Not so sure if he's the person to make the nyt financially sustainable.

Not sure that is something to brag about, but who would admit it, were it not so.
