| QUETTA: One man was killed and eight others injured in a bomb blast on Joint Road late on Wednesday. Police sources told APP that unidentified men had planted an improvised explosive device (IED) beneath a bench outside a restaurant on Joint Road near the railway station. The device exploded and killed one person on the spot and left eight others injured. The police and rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the dead and injured to the Civil Hospital. According to hospital sources, two of the injured were in serious condition. The blast badly damaged the restaurant building while windowpanes of nearby buildings were also broken. The police have cordoned off the area to track down possible suspects. Police have also registered a case and started investigation. |
